Maralgor, Reborn is a Lightbearer Ogre that was created in an experiment by the Lucent Brood to resurrect an Ogre using a Ghost. After briefly going on a rampage, he and his Ghost would be locked up deep in the Oubliette. He would serve as the final boss of the Untamable Exotic Mission when Immaru calls on the Guardian to put him down before Xivu's forces can try to "tame" him with Cryptoliths.
Biography[edit]
Maralgor was originally deployed to the Dreaming City to protect a vital area for Savathûn's Brood, being responsible for the deaths of several Corsairs. Following Savathûn's excommunication, Maralgor would be killed defending the area from Hive loyal to Xivu Arath, but his corpse would be recovered by Wizards of the Witch Queen and brought to her Throne World.
His body would be used alongside other Ogres as part of an experiment by Savathûn as she was testing the capabilities of the Light. Wishing to see what would happen when a Ghost revived an Ogre, she assembled a handful of willing Ghosts and had them revive a pre-slain Ogre, Maralgor among them. While the other Ogres ended up destroying their Ghosts, Maralgor would be the only one that did not, though the reason why is unknown.
Because of his immense strength combined with the Light, Savathûn initially believed Maralgor could be used against the Witness. However, Maralgor proved to be too difficult to control, uncooperative and aggressive towards other Lucent Hive, even killing any Wizards that crossed his path. As a result, Maralgor would be locked up deep in her oubliette.
During the Clash of the Hive Gods, Xivu Arath would learn of Maralgor and send her forces into the oubliette to capture the Ogre and corrupt him into a Wrathborn. However, Eris Morn, Ikora Rey and Immaru would learn of this and call for the Guardian to put the Orge down before Xivu can take control of him. Fighting their way through Xiva's forces and dodging the Ogre's powerful Chaos Reach blasts, the Guardian managed to confront and slay Maralgor. However, his Ghost would flee, leaving his body behind.
