Bharox, the Pained is a massive Ogre in service to the Spite of the King brood. It was experimented on in finding the root causes of death in the most primeval of senses.

Overview[edit]

Born to Suffer[edit]

Bharox was originally a Knight who served dutifully for centuries. However, after a failed skirmish with an alien species known as the Gravity Shadows, he would be left for dead. But Bharox would not die, rather clawed himself back on his feet and continued fighting despite every other factor assuring his death. Upon him returning to his brood, Wizards would experiment on him in attempts to find the root cause of what allowed him to deny death.

After countless attempts to find Bharox's cause of immortality, the Wizards would hand him over to Dokoroth, the Painsmith, who would also begin using Bharox as a subject to experiment her twisted pain-related experiments on to find the best way to cause suffering. When these experiments ended, Bharox had been transformed into an ogre with countless eyes and whose face was engulfed in a veil of darkness that obscured its true nature.

War Against the Light[edit]

Once the Spite of the King entered the Sol System and began its war against The Coalition, Bharox would be deployed to guard a mausoleum Kharyx, the Navigator's Lullaby built in honor of her king's dynasty. The Navigator's Rest would be stationed above Titan and Bharox would be among its first and strongest line of defense. Expectedly, a Guardian would break into The Navigator's Rest in an attempt to find a weakness in Kharyx's Echo of Vengeance. Upon causing enough of a stir, Bharox would awaken and attempt to stop the Guardian, but be killed.

Little did they know, Bharox's death defiance persisted even in his twisted form and would soon reanimate to track them down once again. He'd again confront them as they attempted to seize a scroll Nokris, Son of Oryx once wrote long ago before his banishment that Kharyx secretly kept. Bharox would again be felled, but not stay dead. As the Guardian continued to take expeditions into The Navigator's Rest, Bharox would continually awaken and attempt to stop them. Eventually, however, Nezarec, Final God of Pain possessing Enarka, the Painsmith, would be drawn to Bharox's endless painful existence and would devour his soul in a bid to regain power. Bharox would last be seen as a hollowed out corpse, devoid of life.

Gameplay[edit]

Bharox has a unique attack where he charges up his eye blast, then fires whatever element his eye color changes to right before firing. Solar is a lobbed mortar shot, Arc is a straight shot and can chain damage, Void is a slow moving orb that functions similar to Antioptes, Hypogean Sentinel's time distortion attack, Stasis is a rapid fire Stasis blast attack that can slow and freeze, and Strand are several daggers that behave similar to the Threadrunner's threaded spike.

Bharox also can charge up an attack called Holy Swarm where countless Prismatic projectiles fire from his eyes and rain down. Any that touch ground instead of a target leave behind a pool of a random element. If stepped in these pools inflict the element's signature debuff. Scorch for solar, jolted for Arc, Volatile or Void, Slowed and Frozen for Stasis, and Severed for Strand. Bharox can also bash his fists together and fire several of the nails piercing his flesh outward in every direction.
