- — Grimoire text[1]
The Blades of Crota are a group of unique Knights that appear in The Dark Below. Currently, only one of them appears after the encounter with Omnigul in Fist of Crota. However, the Blades of Crota used to also appear during Patrols on Earth and the Moon every ten minutes, accompanied by a few small waves of Acolytes. Blades are always protected by an Arc Absorption Shield, but are otherwise fairly low-level and easy to kill. Killing a Blade will drop an Ascendant Sword, allowing the player to fight with a sword for forty-five seconds. On a rare occasion, one could drop Husk of the Pit, a common-level weapon that can be upgraded to become Eidolon Ally and then Necrochasm.
Killing Blades was also part of two Bounties from Eris Morn; one requiring players to kill three Blades on Earth or the Moon. The other requiring players to kill Hive using a Blade's sword on Earth.
Once the Blades of Crota that appeared during Patrols were removed in patch 1.1.2, all quests that required killing them were either removed or changed. With Eris's bounties being removed and Husk of the Pit being able to drop at random upon any Hive kill respectively.
Trivia[edit]
- The Blades of Crota were the first enemy to be removed from the game.
