Zektyriphyrus, Axis Mind, The Recursive Mind is a powerful vex mind of the Sol Divisive. It is an elusive Vex Mind that possesses similar immortal programming to The Undying Mind, where it can return after is presumed destruction.
Gameplay[edit]
Story[edit]
Zektyriphyrus is an Ultra Minotaur with a weakspot on its head. It will switch tactics during his encounter. When engaged it will harry its foes with its weapons and grenades. Whenever it loses a third it will teleport and change the arena, when reduced to a fifth of its health it will retreat through a Vex Gate, while dissipating the entire Vex installation on their way out. Forcing the party to flee through Vex gates lest they be lost to the Collapse.
Strike[edit]
Zektyriphyrus is an Ultra Minotaur with a weakspot on its head. It will switch tactics during his encounter, splitting the battle into Four stages. Across the entire fight the Mind can also toss out Slap Grenades that deal Arc damage and apply blindness.
Stage One - Phase 1[edit]
Zektyriphyrus will roam around the arena and open fire with its
Engulfing Cannon and
Chronology Rifle while summoning Vex reinforcements. Its Torch Hammer deals high damage with its explosive Void bolts. In order to get to another point immediately, it will teleport to continue its attack and summon more Harpy reinforcements. The player must be aware of where it will teleport to so that they may take cover and put enough distance between them and Zektyriphyrus. Distance is crucial, as getting too close will result in Zektyriphyrus stomping the ground to create a Temporal Shockwave, which can instantly kill a player. After it loses a fifth of its health, Zektyriphyrus will alter the arena's layout, thus beginning stage two. Note that Zektyriphyrus will be fully immune between each stage.
Stage Two - Phase 2[edit]
Zektyriphyrus will remain stationary and in the center of the arena. Occasionally it will slam the ground with its fist to blanket the floor in fire. This blanket of fire will rapidly eat away at the player's health so long as they remain on the ground. Once these blankets disappear, it will perform an energy change, pushing the player upward and potentially off of the field to their death. As it loses health, Goblins and Hobgoblins will arrive in support of the Mind. Once a fifth of health is lost passed, Zektyriphyrus will dissipate the floor and teleport to a new arena, thus beginning stage three.
Stage Three - Phase 3[edit]
Zektyriphyrus will be at its most dangerous state here. For the first half of this stage, it will remain in a Vex
radiolarian field. It will pick off the Guardians from a distance with its weapons and summon Goblins and Fanatics to flank and harry the fireteam. Additionally, any player that enters the field will suffer a damage-over-time effect until they get back on the main platform or any of the secondary platforms, which are the safest possible spot at this stage.
Stage Four - Phase 4+5[edit]
When Zektyriphyrus reaches two-fifths of its health, it will teleport to the center of the arena and lock itself inside an immunity shield floaing above the main platform while it gathers Void energy. Guardians must use Vex Craniums to destroy Confluxs generating this shield, once the shield is broken. Zektyriphyrus will swap out its melee and drop down to the main platform dissipating it, while overcharging its fist with Void energy and slamming it with the same force as the previous stage. Whenever he slams the ground with his
Titanic slam, it can change the arena layout, potentially dumping unsuspecting guardians into the Radiolarian Fluid. If approached in this stage, it will use a watered-down version of Titanic Slam known as
Regressor Slam. This version will not change the arena but functions the exact same as a Temporal Shockwave but deals Void damage. After entering this stage it can also temporary dismiss its main weapon and swap it for a
Chronology Rifle. It can choose to activate its Decimating Sonata if it would like to attack with both while in this stage.
When it reaches the last fifth of its health, Zektyriphyrus will lose its head and move the weak spot to its belly. In this state, it enters a berserker rage, rapidly charging the players while firing its weapons wildly and slamming continuously to generate more Regressor Slams. More reinforcements will continue to appear. Zektyriphyrus will remain in this stage until it is defeated. However, upon its defeat; it would will seemingly duplicate, one copy returning to Sol Divisive controlled Vex installations while the other transforms into a Taken version of itself, fully restored and outfitted with powerful abilities in exchange for all the stuff it lost. Its weapon would transform with it. It would fight this way till destroyed.
