- "I am war, and my throne is deathless. Come. Cut the outer curtain of my fortress, and it will open its new eye in a bloodless laceration. Cut further to see inside its walls: the yellow fat, the purple viscera, the teeming rust-cut capillaries. These are the colors of war. THESE ARE THE COLORS OF MY COURT."
- — Xivu Arath, God of War
Xivu Arath's Throne is the Throne World of Xivu Arath, God of War. It appears as a terrace covered by onyx blades, hilted in emerald flame and overlooking darkened systems. Since her appearance in the Sol System, Xivu Arath has used the Bladed Terrace to summon forth her armies.
Description[edit]
According to Xivu Arath, the colors of her court are the yellow of fat, the purple of viscera and the rust-cut of capillaries. The Black Terrace hosts many structures made out of living and biological materials: swollen fountains running with blood and bursting with arterial sprays, paths paved with white teeth that gnash at every footfall and with living roots, cathedrals made of flesh that brush and contract when the breeze caresses them. Her own palace has halls that are like echoing throats, slick and filled with breath and with windows that are glazed with skin, opalescent and latticed with veins. Her throne is made of living bones, still filled with pith and knotted with scars.
Outside of the dark terrace, the rest of the Throneworld of Xivu Arath is described as a salt flat that stretches endlessly until it disappears into darkness, with armaments of all kinds partially sheathed between the cracks like it's a battlefield.
Even if Xivu Arath claims that her throne is made in celebration of War and Death, Savathun believes that it's a mausoleum of life with the cloying comfort of a birthing room, reminiscent of the gardens where they used to play when they were young krill.
Ascendants in order of Appearance[edit]
| Image | Title | Event |
|---|---|---|
| Xivu Arath, God of War | Xivu Arath is one of the three main deities of the Hive. She is the Goddess of War and the Queen of the Blood Horde. Because of the nature of the pact she made with the God Worms, War is her domain. Xivu Arath is capable of gaining tribute through acts of violence directed at her or made in her name, but, at the same time, she is forced to always seek conflict to satiate her worm. --- After the defeat of the Witness, Xivu Arath obtained the power to Take. However, she is capable of creating new Taken only inside her Throne and not-Hive Taken are unable to survive on their own in the Ascendant Plane. | |
| ---- | ---- | ---- |
| Ir Yun, Cult of Megor | Ir Yun is an Ascendant Wizard. She is a remnant of a Brood that followed Oryx in his invasion of Sol. After the Taken King's defeat, she was captured by the Awoken and kept inside the Prison of Elder. After the chaos of Ghaul's War, Ir Yun sought contact with Xivu Arath and was graced with an infant Ogre sent through the Ascendant Plane. The Wizard use the Ogre to create a cult and rally the Hive prisoners under her banner, gathering tribute for the Goddess of War through herself. | |
| Megor, Spawn of Xivu | Megor is an Ascendant Ogre. Despite being barely strong enough to traverse the Ascendant Plane, their nature of ritual creation for Xivu Arath made Melgor Ascendant through their link with the Goddess of War. After being sent to the Prison of Elder they were used by the Wizard Ir Yun to create a cult and rally the Hive prisoners under her banner. Xivu Arath had planned for Ir Yun to become too ambitious with her gift and force a reaction from the Awoken, turning Melgor into a sacrifice to open a gate for her forces. | |
| Ruithe, Sworn to Xivu Arath | Ruithe is an Ascendant Knight. He was a Knight that belonged to a long forgotten Brood not linked to the three main deities of the Hive. During Xivu Arath's invasion of the Cabal's Empire the two factions ended up meeting and fighting. Ruithe stood out as a powerful opponent against the Horde's knights, defeating enough of them to give time to the Cabal trapped in the crossfire to re-organize and destroy the Goddess of War's stronghold. Stealing the tribute they had gathered, Ruithe was able to become Ascendant. After hearing of this, Xivu Arath invited the knight to her Throne and offered him and his Brood a place in her Horde. He accepted and was rewarded with children directly from his new deity. Ruithe and his spawn, eager to prove themselves, were sent to the Dreaming City by Xivu Arath to take control of the Awoken artifact of the Oracle Engine. | |
| Hasaak, Venom of Xivu Arath | Ruithe is an Wizard. | |
| Tulkor, Ferocity of Xivu Arath | Ruithe is an Ogre. | |
| Xaras, Greed of Xivu Arath | Xarax is a Taken Ogre. They were created by Xivu Arath to ambush Oryx's Brood and steal tribute from one of their conquest. The Ogre had success in their task but refused to return to the Goddess of War's Throne and continued to kill, defeating enough Knights to Ascend on their own. Oryx noticed this and, after defeating Xarax, turned them into a Taken, sending them back to his sister to steal from her. After a brutal battle, the Goddess of War managed to imprison the Ogre, keeping them as a beast for her champions to test themselves against. Xarax was sent to the Dreaming City by Xivu Arath to take control of Awoken artifacs. | |
| Mukor, Soulkeeper & Ugroth, Soulkeeper | Mukor and Ugroth are Taken Ogres. They are the result of Savathun stealing two Taken Ogres from Oryx, and experimenting to bound their souls together so that one could return to life if the other was killed. Apparently a failure, the Witch Queen would abandon the Ogres on a derelict Warmoon, allowing the Wizards of the Goddess of War to take control of them. Mukor and Ugroth were sent to the Dreaming City by Xivu Arath to take control of the Awoken artifact of the Oracle Engine. | |

He is the most powerful of the Celebrants of the Goddess of War, having contributed the most to spreading violence in her name in the order. After Savathun's disappearance from Sol, Xivu Arath has tasked the High Celebrant with the conquest of the system for her, directing him to bring the lost Broods of Oryx and Crota under her control and conquer the heretics still following the Witch Queen. For this task he received a High Ogre to command and control over the Cryptolites, so that he could use them to corrupt the local forces of Hive, Eliksni and Cabal and forge an army for her with which to establish a foothold in Sol. | |

During these battles he defeated many powerful opponents, gained a lot of tribute and was noticed by the High Celebrant for his devotion, becoming Ascendant. After Xivu Arath's herald defeat, Kelgorath found himself as the only Ascendant left in Sol and thus became the anchor for most of the tribute flowing from the Hive of the system loyal to the Goddess of War.
