Voltage Eaters are modified Heavy Shanks encountered in the Wrath of the Machine Raid that are meant to drain voltage from Guardians who are attempting to take down Vosik's immunity shield.

Later, in Season of the Haunted, these units would return under the banner of the House of Dusk's Splicer clade, where they would serve a similar role in the Obsidian Acropolis Arena, this time protecting the Dusk Splicer Priest.

Gameplay

In both instances, these units will show up once a Guardian has dunked enough voltage into a spinner in order to drain it and the rest of the spinners of their power. The unit will move in on them slowly but surely, using their Shank Turrets to protect them from scrutiny. While a nuisance should they reach their designation, these units can be easily dispatched with enough focused fire.
