Ir Dralcha, the Crownless Queen is a former Ascendant Hive and traitor daughter of Xivu Arath. Her eldest child, perhaps among the oldest among the descendants of the Hive Gods, she has been at the forefront of her mother's crusades such as the fall of the Taishibethi and Sarupal. However during a war with the Harmony, she, along with some of her forces would betray their own kind, freed from their worms, and, instead, ally with the Ahamkara and scourge the forces of the Hive. Only through the combined efforts of the siblings, she and her brood would be forced to retreat in a realm beyond reach by the retaliatory forces of the Gods. For years, the traitor goddess would plot her return and vengeance against the forces of the gods, all the while welcoming many of the Hive's pariahs and exiles into her fold. Centuries later, however, sensing the absence of Oryx and the presence of an artifact of great power, she and her brood would emerge aboard the Dreadnaught and claim this relic, now seeking to use this shard of The Witness to create an ideal reality for the Hive to rule. She would serve as the main antagonist of Episode: Heresy.

Biography[edit]

Born of Storms[edit]

"MY OWN FLESH, MY OWN BLOOD, YOU WERE BORN TO AVENGE OUR LOSS AGAINST THE AMMONITES, YOU AND YOUR SIBLINGS ALL. YET THEY CAME FOR YOU, SOUGHT VENGEANCE FOR OUR BLOODY CAMPAIGNS AGAINST THEIR WORLDS. IN FEAR YOU WERE SENT AWAY, CAST TO THE RUINS AND HORRORS OF FUNDAMENT BY HASTY MAGIC. IN FEAR WE THOUGHT YOU ALL DEAD. BUT, BEHOLD, AT THE PEAKS OF KHENTHIL, WE FOUND YOU ALONE, CAKED IN BLOOD AND WREATHED BY LIGHTNING. AND OUR FEAR BECAME EXCITEMENT, FOR A TRUE SCION OF WAR WAS BORN! BLADE IN HAND AND RAISED BY STORMS! RISE, MY CHILD. MY BELOVED DAUGHTER. WE HAVE CIVILIZATIONS TO DESTROY. SO SAYS THE WORM OUR GOD."
Xivu Arath

When the Ammonite repelled the forces of the Hive, Xivu Arath was ordered by the Worm Gods to bolster her forces on the many scattered and claimed moons by spawning more upon them. One such brood she would give birth to and guard with great interest, and personally feed them their Worms upon hatching. When the Ammonite sought vengeance, they would bombard the moon with significant ordnance in an effort to eradicate the Hive within. In a hasty effort, the clutch was quickly transported to Fundament with the hope that they would brave and survive the harsh landscape of the ruined, drowned world.

As the brood grew on this hostile world, many would be culled away by the feral creatures born from the waves and the Stormjoys that continued to inhabit the atmosphere. The neonate Acolyte that would be Ir Dralcha, and what was left of her fellow brood, would continue to eke out a miserable living on Fundament, utilizing her wits, lessons learned from her fallen siblings and ever growing strength to survive the wastes. Among her growing skills and abilities, she would become more and more proficient in the use of a spear, using it to dig into the scaled hides of the wave-born beasts and keeping hostile life at bay. One day, she would come into conflict with a few of her surviving siblings over the unknowing hunger of their Worms and, when coming to blows, she would be the only survivor among them, now fattened with the power of their deaths.

After a few months of survival, she would be found by scouts from Xivu Arath's forces and brought back to her brood. She would be welcomed back with celebration from her mother and named Ir Dralcha, meaning Keeper of the Storm in direct translation. Now surrounded by attendants and warriors, and disciplined in the art of war, using her newfound strength and bondage to the tithe to ascend to the Knight morph, she would be ordered forward to war. Now ascendant, she would serve as the vanguard of Xivu Arath's forces against the Ammonite, eventually dueling Chroma-Admiral Rafriit and impaling him upon her reforged sword-spear, offering his corpse to her mother as her first grand gift to the War Eternal.

Goddess of the Jade Storm[edit]

Path of Destruction[edit]

Such was the slaughter of the Taishibethi that the brutality of the war was enough to earn her the moniker of Scourge of the Taishibethi. Not only would she be known for her respected command and skill with a sword spear, however, as she and her fellow coven of handmaidens would eventually come into command of powerful bolts of Hive lightning. Through a merging of consciousness in song, blood and soul, the residual power would galvanize the air with material psionic energy, effectively creating Jade Lightning. With this discovery, and being among the few among her ranks to effectively command it, she would soon earn the title the Goddess of the Jade Storm.

The Truth[edit]

Sometime before the Hive-Harmony war, she would lead a vanguard force against the Sarupal, a minor species off the main forces' warpath. Although she and her forces would face minor resistance no thanks in small part to the goddess' unique power, she and her allies would discover the strange species odd strength in combat, as well as an artifact among their king's collection; a pumice-like effigy. Although the slaughter was over, she and her covens would look further into their pilfered baubles, curious about what spurred and drove the Sarupal to great heights of battle. Eventually, she would learn that what empowered the Sarupal in their war was none other than darkness, and learn that this artifact was given to the species by some entity with a keen for the young, war-like race. Yet as she continued to look further into the strange powers of this vanquished species, she would hit a wall with her research, stumped and out of time before the Hive would encounter their next greatest foes, the Harmony.

With the Hive-Harmony War in full swing, she would be put at the forefront of the conflict, slicing down many of the Harmony and impaling many of their Ahamkara allies upon her swordspear. She would take an interest in the powers of the former draconic creatures, however, and take some prisoner for experimentation and research. One such prisoner, Darumel, the Last Wishknight would see her curiosity in the nature of her Sarupali artifact and promised her knowledge on the truth of its creation. Cautiously and with the approval of her comrades, she would accept the Ahamkara's bargain and look into the truth of the artifact only to discover the reality of the artifact, a shrine for the Sarupal in unknowing worship to The Witness, their empowerment in the Darkness and the truth of the Hive's existence; to serve as the vanguard of the Witness crusade for the Light and what would become of it should it succeed. Although the Ahamkara's wish would take its toll in his and his allies freedom, the Hive Goddess, now driven by new purpose and first tasting the potential of the wish dragons' power, would strike a deal with her former captors and form an alliance.

The Great Betrayal[edit]

After brutally culling all possible loyalists from her ranks and using the Ahamkara to free themselves from their worms, she and her followers, along with their new Ahamkara comrades, would rebel against the Hive, waging a bloody insurrection against them all and, thoroughly, turning the war into the Harmony's favor. Now effectively spearheading a counter assault on the Harmony's behalf, she would take the war to the hearts of the Hive Gods' ascendant planes, carving a bloody swathe throughout their domains no thanks in small part due to the Ahamkara's formidable strength and the profane power of Ir Dralcha's Jade Lightning. However, despite her best efforts in the shock assault against the Hive and the lives taken by her traitorous ranks, the united efforts of the gods would see her forces pushed back and most of the Ahamkara slaughtered save for an aged few and her compatriot Darumel. Before she could be slain or captured by the united Hive, she and her forces would escape through a rift created by her coven and the remaining Wishknight to a realm beyond the Hive's reach.

For untold centuries, the exiled Hive Goddess would plot her return as all her coven and warriors would ever continue to perfect their craft, anxious for their inevitable and wrathful return. In the meantime, the Hive would strike her name from all records and tear down all statues of her save for the indestructible statues within many of the Hive's sanctums such as the Osmium Labyrinth, even destroying all knowledge learned and commanded by her and her allies; thus, all knowledge on Jade Lightning was destroyed and its practice outlawed, even if those outside of Ir Dralcha's forces could properly learn it. From time to time, these forces would scourge the Hive Gods, raiding, killing and stealing from them to bolster their ranks and power, but ever locked out from retaliation by the Hive Gods thanks to the nature of the realm created by the coven.

Personality and Traits[edit]

In many ways, Ir Dralcha embodied not just her mother, but also her aunt and uncle, possessed of a ruthless, yet calculated mind, a drive to push the limits of what is possible with Hive magic and driven by a sense of curiosity in the nature of the world and even her enemies. Despite seeming cold and uncaring from the outside, many among the Hive see she respects her forces, especially those possessed of both physical and magical strength, and sees that each Hive among her rank has the potential to become something greater... should the personally seek it without aid, of course.

None, ironically, would know true camaraderie with the Hive Goddess more than the sole outsider, Darumel. Forming a mutualistic relationship with the Ahamkara, she would use her incredible power to feed the Ahamkara all the while using his power to further delve into them mysteries of the universe and seek a means to claim vengeance.
