Acolyte Hierophants are a Major variant of the Acolyte with enhanced Hive Spellcraft abilities. They use assorted Hive weaponry in battle namely Shredders, and Boomer. They tend to stay at the back of fights and have been classified as aspiring Wizards based on their use of Hive Magicks. They usually appear wielding Soulfire Rifles or Shredders most of the time, but have a chance to spawn with any other weapon available to Acolytes.

Gameplay

In battle Hierophants act like any other Acolyte, they throw grenades and fire their weapon. However they stay at the back of the group rather than join the frontlines. From their rear position they will cast barrages of Solar Axion Darts that act similarly to the Retaliation Swarm of Taken Hobgoblins, but do not require the unit to be attacked first. On death they send out two more darts that home in on it killer. While it is alive, if approached it will actively move away from its enemies.

• The Hierophant like other Acolytes is affected by the Adept's enrage wave.
