Swordbearer Nightmares are Nightmares of Swordbearer Hive Knights that appear all over the Sol System.

Gameplay[edit]

Swordbearer Nightmares fight much like normal Cleaver bearing Knights, but drop their weapons when defeated, which is then used as part of an activity's mechanics. Most of them look like Knights of the Hidden Swarm.

Elite Swordbearer Nightmares appear in the mission Beyond, where their Cleavers are to be used against the Nightmare of Crota, Son of Oryx, who is otherwise immune to damage.[1]Major variants appear in Nightmare Hunt: Despair, where they serve the same purpose[2].

Other Elite Swordbearer Nightmares are part of the mechanics of the Warsat Down Public Event, where their Cleavers can be collected by participants to help deal with the waves of foes.[3]

Finally, Ultra Swordbearer Nightmares act as sacrifices in the Altars of Sorrow Event. These ones don't drop their Cleaver, and will make a run for the sacrificial altar instead of fighting Guardians. Elite ones also appear when Wizards interrupt the ritual, and their Cleavers are to be used to break the caster's shields.[4]

Trivia[edit]

  • On the release of Beyond Light, Swordbearer Nightmares could be encountered in the Warsat Down public event in the Cosmodrome and are also encountered roaming the Skywatch.
    • As of Lightfall, the Swordbearer Nightmares encountered in Cosmodrome have been correctly renamed to Revenant Knights. However, Swordbearer Knights can still be encountered in the Warsat Down public event.
