Shuro Chi, the Corrupted, formerly known as Shuro Chi, is an Awoken Techeun who served the Queen, Mara Sov. She assisted the Queen several times, once to reach out to straying Awoken,[1] and another as a bodyguard since the Wolf Rebellion.[2] Shuro also served as liaison between the Techeuns and the other Awoken, particularly the Queen's Wrath Petra Venj, ameliorating personality clashes and distrust.[3]
During the Wolf Rebellion, Chi participated in a discussion with Prince Uldren Sov, Paladin Yasmin Eld, and Petra Venj on Skolas' attempts to rally the House of Kings.[4]
Before the fateful Battle of Saturn Shuro participated in a rare meeting with the Coven, discussing what to do about Oryx, the Taken King.[5] She was instructed by Illyn to take the youngest Harbingers to "plant them" into the Dreadnaught, "to have children of their own".[5]
Shuro was later Taken when Oryx unleashed the Dreadnaught's superweapon in retaliation for deploying the Harbingers.[6]
When the Guardian first reached the Dreaming City, Shuro was present along her fellow Taken Techeuns. Upon the Guardian's approach, she and her sister Techeuns immediately banished them into the Ascendant realm, forcing them to escape.
