Synklinos, the Nexus Mind is a powerful Vex Hydra encountered within the standard version of the the Nexus Strike. Replacing the former Sekrion, the Vex Mind would serve as the Sol Collective's replacement as it would seek to continue its predecessor's work in transforming Venus into a Machine World. Despite weeks or even months of operating within the Nexus, it would be destroyed by a Guardian strike team.
Gameplay[edit]
As a boss Hydra, Synklinos will pound into its adversaries with it's
Aeon Maul, infrequently teleporting around the arena to either evade attacks or get a better angle on their adversaries and relying on it's rotational shields to block incoming damage. In addition to its main abilities, this Vex Mind incorporates multiple different gameplay features from prior installments of the Nexus, as well as it's own abilities. For starters, the Nexus Mind will infrequently deploy Seeker swarms in order to trap Guardians within a Detainment sphere, slowly damaging them and leaving them vulnerable to attacking Vex forces. Upon losing a third of its health, Synklinos will shroud itself in an immune shield, which can only be brought down by a Super blast from an Aegis. Additionally, after it's first health gate is bypassed, the Hydra will mark certain areas for "Disintegration", much like the Sanctified Mind, which will deal significant Solar damage to any player within the field, being an outright death sentence to players on higher difficulties. Although formidable in its own right, on Grandmaster difficulties, the Aegis will remain for the players as the Vex Mind will also apply the Marked by the Void debuff for all players, which will slowly blind the Guardians before inevitably killing them. While this artifact can be handy on Grandmasters in a pinch, the Guardians can easily be overwhelmed by Overload Minotaurs or lose their shield at an inopportune moment, but the shield can be collected at any time.
