The Sphinx is a variant of Wyvern that exists as a prototype Wyvern with an alternate equipment loadout featuring an Arc Warp Lance and powerful Arc Shields. Their weapon applies Jolt to targets they hit. This variant is more designed for offensive capabilities compared to defensive hence this variant lacks the iconic Fan Shield that is standard on Wyverns.

Gameplay

Sphinxes function like Wyverns do but forgo defending allies in favor of rushing their foes and blasting them to death with their Arc Warp Lance which jolts on impact. They tend to be far more aggressive.
