The Devourer of Hidden Light is a powerful Taken Ogre and the final obstacle of the Twinkling Light encounter of the Obsidian Acropolis, where the powerful Ogre must be eliminated for the final bunch of points.

Gameplay[edit]

Upon the elimination of the Engorged Ogres, the Devourer of Hidden Light will arrive to consume whatever light is left in the arena and challenge the Guardians. Unlike standard Taken Ogres, the Devourer of Hidden Light is capable of tossing a Solar Solar Mortar capable of leaving behind a massive puddle of burning flame. In addition, it is capable of unleashing a barrage of Axion Darts like that of Vorgeth, the Boundless Hunger. Like it's Engorged Ogre predecessors, the Devourer of Hidden Light is immune to most damage unless the fireteam is standing in a puddle of freed light, where they may unleash all manner of attacks into the Ogre. In addition to a massive health bar, Guardians should also be aware that its weak point now lies within its glowing chest, similar to Phogoth, the Untamed, Golgoroth or Naksud, the Famine. Much like before, the Devourer will randomly corrupt a Guardian's Light, requiring them to cleanse it with instability and use its detonation against the Ogre for increased damage, and the Devourer will slowly approach the pool to drink its Light. After it has consumed a puddle of Light, it will move on to the next Light-charged Blights through teleportation.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Devourer of Hidden Light has a striking resemblance to that of Naksud, the Famine, additionally bearing Hive shackles and longer back spikes.
