Engorged Ogres are Taken Ogres encountered in the Twinkling Light encounter in the Obsidian Acropolis, where they must be eliminated using pools of light dropped from Taken blights.

Gameplay

Upon initiating the encounter, a trio of these Taken Ogres will appear to challenge the Guardians and begin their feeding on whatever Light their blights have captured. The Taken Ogres will move around and blast their opponents with their Rotted Surge, knocking them back in addition to dealing decent damage. They will be immune to all damage until players have dropped a pool of light from a Light-charged Blight and stay in the pool for damage. While the fireteam damage the Taken Ogre, they will move closer and closer to it in order to drink it up and remove the fireteam's ability to damage them. In addition, a random Guardian will be inflicted with Corrupted Light, denying them the use of their weapons and abilities; the Guardian must seek out pillars of Taken energy similar to Taken Strength from Morgeth to acquire Unstable Light, which they can use against the Engorged Ogre for increased damage.
