The Coming War

The Coming war is a mission on Phobos in Fleetbase Korus where a Cabal distress signal is being broadcasted on all channels. At the beginning of the mission, Commander Zavala mentions that "If they are willing to break transmission, this could be prelude to a full-scale assault."

Once the Guardian sets down on Phobos, A Cabal Legionary is seen crawling on the ground and dying. Go further ahead and you see another Legionary on patrol, until the entrance explodes along with it. You enter the base and have a look around until you see a small, starry, black-and-white entity retreat up a corridor. Whilst trying to retrace the path the entity had went, you see a strange membrane which can be scanned by the Ghost.

"This membrane is attempting to form a bridge between dimensions, but I think it requires a living host to do so." -Ghost
