Trivia

• Taraxippoi were spectral presences believed by the Ancient Greeks to be responsible for frightening horses at hippodrome performances. The name was also applied to a Solar System-threatening black hole which featured in the novel Perihelion Summer by science fiction author Greg Egan, perhaps serving as the inspiration for the weapon description's mention of an "event horizon".
