The Trials of Osiris are a variant of the [[Skirmish]] game type, with two teams of three players competing against each other. Players can be revived by teammates at the site of their death. There are three main differences between the Trials and standard Skirmish: the Trials take place on only one map, [[The Burning Shrine]] on [[Mercury]]; player level advantages are enabled as in the [[Iron Banner]]; and participation requires either a Tournament Ticket earned as a reward from the [[Crucible]] or, if the player has the exotic weapon bounty "An Unknown Patron" active, an Osiris Coin purchased for 1 [[Mote of Light]]. Victory streaks in the Trials earn exclusive rewards, but three losses will force the player to drop out until they can acquire another Tournament Ticket or Osiris Coin.<ref>[http://planetdestiny.com/trials-osiris/ '''Planet Destiny:''' Trials of Osiris]</ref>

Gameplay

The Trials of Osiris are a variant of the Skirmish game type, with two teams of three players competing against each other. Matches consist of a number of 2 minute rounds; winning a round gains a team 1 point toward victory, and the first team to five points wins the match. Players can be revived by teammates at the site of their death. The first team to eliminate the other completely or with the most surviving members when the timer runs out wins the round.

Further differences between the Trials and standard Skirmish include: the Trials take place on only one map each week; player level advantages are enabled as in the Iron Banner; fireteam matchmaking is disabled, requiring players to manually assemble a full fireteam of three; and participation requires a Trials Passage mission item that tracks personal wins and losses. There are four tiers of Trials Passages (Stone, Bronze, Silver, Gold), each requiring a greater number of wins to advance to the next tier.

To enter the Trials of Osiris, players must speak to Brother Vance at the Vestian Outpost. He will grant a Trials Passage, as well as offer score-altering consumables (Boon of Osiris, Favor of Osiris, and Mercy of Osiris) and tier-based rewards packages.
