Tutelaries are one of the units that make up the Dread.

Overview

Compared to other Dread units, the Tutelaries are more a mechanical construct made using Pyramid technology rather than a living creature flayed by the Witness using Light harvested from the Traveler.

Tutelaries are arachnoids with four arms (with the lower pair being much smaller) and four spider-like legs. They have three metallic heads that resemble Cruxes of Darkness with light emanating from them via a horizontal slit.

Gameplay

Tutelaries function similarly to Shriekers, Scorpius or Security Turrets, deployed to defend positions held by the Dread and allied forces from enemy attacks. Similar to Security Turrets, they have a large amount of health and lack a weak point. Their only real attack is to fire with dual Transitory lances. However, they can plant themselves anywhere, including on the walls and ceiling. With their legs, they can unplant themselves and move about to a new position.
