Tehk is a colossal Proto-Worm captured by the Vex and imprisoned within the Network. He acts as the guide for the Guardians in the Cultivation of Potential Raid.

Biography

Origins

Millions of years ago, Tehk was one of many Worms living on Fundament. However, when much of his species became seduced by the Sword Logic and began slaughtering each other to grow stronger, Tehk was one of the few to escape Fundament. As he fled, he would attempt to hide on another world, which he didn't know had been transformed by the Vex. Upon diving into a Radiolaria sea, he would quickly be subsumed. Despite this, Tehk managed to retain a degree of independence from the Vex.

In the Vexnet

Over the eons, Tehk would work to slowly manipulate the code of the Vex Network to carve a realm for himself that the Vex would avoid. This realm would become a simulation of Fundament to remind him of home, as well as construct Proxy Krill so that he wouldn't be alone.

During this time, Tehk would encounter Taox, frozen in stasis to stave off the short lifespan of the Krill, who had hidden herself in the Vex Network to hide from the Hive. After recovering her and bringing her to his simulated Fundament, Tehk agreed to protect her.

Tehk would be one of many denizens within the Network to recognize the arrival of the Echo of Command. However, he did not make an attempt to claim the Echo, believing that it wasn't the right time.

Cultivation of Potential

By the time of the Convergent Containment, the Guardian would briefly enter a simulation of Fundament as they descended into Sedna to destroy the Telos Convergent's leading Mind, Ouranos, briefly spotting Tehk swimming through the ocean as they fought.

After Ouranos was destroyed, along with the Echo of Paracausality, the leaderless Convergent Vex would make plans to infiltrate the Network to spread their influence through it using recovered fragments of the Echo by learning how Tehk evaded the Vex, creating a Mind to capture him. However, Tehk would learn of this and call out to the Guardians to aid him. A Guardian fireteam would pursue the Convergent Vex and destroy the Kraken sent to capture Tehk, leaving him in their debt.

Conflict with the Siblings

Following the destruction of Nightfall Station, Savathûn would learn of Taox being still alive from Dredgen Bael and Geist. They would offer for VI to open the way to her in exchange for killing Maya Sundaresh and tithing her death to VI, allowing her to take the Echo of Command from her. However, upon learning the Echo had dissipated, Savathûn instead launched an invasion of Sedna and managed to breach into Tehk's simulation. However, the attempt to find Taox would be stopped by a Guardian fireteam.
