Banshees are powerful Hive Wizards. They serve as portal guards, they will appear outside a Ascendant Portal that leads directly to the throne of an Ascendant Hive. If fought inside the Ascendant Realm they can unleash lesser Oversouls that cannot instant kill but still leaves quite a mark on intruders.
