Treasure Map

From Destinypedia, the Destiny wiki

A Treasure Map was an item sold by Cayde-6 in Destiny 2 in exchange for Glimmer. Five were offered each week for a specific Destination. Purchasing a Treasure Map added an Ace of Spades icon to an area's map in the Director which denoted the location of one of Cayde-6's secret treasure chests. Loot from these chests could vary from gear to items that could be traded in to Cayde for Glimmer or other rewards. With update 2.0, Cayde and his inventory was removed from the Tower and Treasure Maps can no longer be obtained.

Treasure Map quotes[edit]

"And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going."

EDZ[edit]

"New lead from Hawthorne. Not really much to go on, something about a fan. I know I must have a lot of them, so if you see one down in the EDZ, maybe ask them?"
— Cayde-6

"I used to have this old lookout. Scoped out my first FWC bunker there. Just like the Cabal to plop that eyesore of a base right on top of a piece of dark age nostalgia. Do me a favor, if you make it up there: snipe a few rhinos for me."
— Cayde-6

"Good news: I remember exactly where one of my old EDZ caches is. Bad news: those parts are Taken territory now. So I guess the question is: how bad d'you want it?"
— Cayde-6

"So I took off edging the cliff, Golden Gun down to one shot. Left a lot behind cliffside. Bad day."
— Cayde-6

"So after a full day of pulling loot out of the Fallen's hands, I thought I would just cool my engines down by that old river, but as soon as I cached it all up down there, a Servitor shows up."
— Cayde-6

"You do much driving? Me neither. But I used to spend nights hiding out near this truck just teetering on a ledge, just waiting for the day some dumb Dreg would send it over the ledge. That day never came."
— Cayde-6

"This place is full of old containers. Don't bother raiding them all—I already did. They're all filled with shoes. Mountains of Golden Age footwear, and not a thing in my size."
— Cayde-6

"So once you get up there, don't be afraid to strut it on the catwalk. We both know the importance of looking good."
— Cayde-6

"I tell you what. You get to work cleaning out the angry spider-pirates and space-rhinos, and I give you the deed to this little cabin I won from Ren. With a little work, could become a nice little getaway."
— Cayde-6

"Listen, I feel bad making you go after my stuff, so last night I snuck down to the EDZ. Sh-sh-sh, don't tell Zavala! Anyway, I got the cache, then got a tiny bit turned around and ended up in a Cabal base. You know how that is. The dogs and all. Had to stash the goods quickly and get out. So… can you go get it?"
— Cayde-6

"Stashed plenty of loot up at the old mill in the EDZ. To scare the Dregs off, I'd throw on some old Festival of the Lost masks and make 'em think the place was haunted."
— Cayde-6

"OK, all I can give you to go on in this one is… it's high up. So… look up, I guess? Don't look at me like that, I'm doing my best."
— Cayde-6

"I've been all around this system, seen all sorts of transports, but nothing with the resiliency of this old Golden Age rustbucket I found in the EDZ. Used it as a grab-and-go spot for years."
— Cayde-6

"You know, I used to think if it's marked a dead zone, it's my kind of place. Vanguard cured me of that, but I left plenty behind there back in the day. Third-floor balcony, above the alley. Loved that spot… Hope the Fallen haven't got to it."
— Cayde-6

Titan[edit]

"OK, I actually made a sketch to remind me of this one. And it looks like I put it… near some kind of windmill. Or fan. Or something."
— Cayde-6

"And just to amuse myself I would find natural x's in any environment and stash something somewhere beneath them, just to be able to say those words to myself… 'X marks the spot.'"
— Cayde-6

"So this cache… all I remember is it's in a very… blue room. You'll know it when you see it."
— Cayde-6

"Mapping these pings to the latest from Sloane, looks like you'll be tearing through some kind of ceiling garden. Good luck with that."
— Cayde-6

"Getting pings on another one somewhere high up in one of those towers. From what I hear, the Fallen are using those towers as some kind of junkyard. Could be like a needle in a haystack. Good luck."
— Cayde-6

"I always used Titan as a rest stop before hitting the Reef. Something about those waves. This one's right under your nose. And your feet."
— Cayde-6

"This one is in some kind of wall. What was it with the Golden Age that they built walls around everything?"
— Cayde-6

"What idiot crashed the tank into the wall? It definitely, one hundred percent, absolutely wasn't me. You believe me, right?"
— Cayde-6

"Titan who gave me the lead said he stood there watching their spawning crud just repel off my cache… too scared to touch it. You aren't scared of a little Hive fungus are you?"
— Cayde-6

"Reef Awoken are weird like that. She assured me it was a gold mine, so I went exploring. Check near some kind of generator machine thing, there should be one I haven't hit in years."
— Cayde-6

"I take it you like to jump, right? I see the way you jump all around the Tower. Guardians these days—no respect for gravity."
— Cayde-6

"Those Fallen on Titan. I've been after them for years. They ransacked an old trove I kept in the Sink on Venus, then went completely dark. Getting pings on one, but everyone who's been after it gets lost in the dark way down below."
— Cayde-6

"You know what I used to love about my rest stops on Titan? Walking into the Arcology and thinking about it in its heyday. But then you get to thinking of how much we actually lost, and now the Hive just spawning everywhere… and the will to fight boils right back up."
— Cayde-6

"We Exo must've had it made back in the Golden Age. Just my presence alone seems to bypass any active security measures in the Arcologies."
— Cayde-6

"So I chased the gang of Awoken thieves up to the Arcology. That bridge didn't look too stable, and I'm not into methane baths, so I stashed what I had and picked up their trail inside."
— Cayde-6

—and if you see Satomi, make sure she knows the deal. Speaker thinks he's onto something, and those Arcstriders know every Dead Zone. And Cayde, don't make me remind you again. You lost fair and square. When you come back, this seat is yours.
Your old pal and soon-to-be-relieved boss,
Andal

—Here's the skinny, Ace, never trust the Awoken. The Reef type. The ones back on Earth, they're ok. But if you ever find yourself washed up in the Reef, keep your distance. They play by a whole other set of rules, like they want to be untrusted. And whatever you do, do not stare into their eyes—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

I should've paid more attention to you, Ikora. My brain usually checks out when the words have more than three syllables. Who would've known you can't shoot your way out of a Vex teleporter? When I get out of this mess whaddya say you lay some Vex schooling on me?
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—couldn't tell you what it was, Ace, but it was trying to seize control of me, like I was nothing but circuits and steel. Didn't know who it was messing with. I guess the moral of that story is never fall asleep near anything marked with that symbol—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—what can I say, I was just in too deep, Ace. I had to do something. For your sake, above all. I had lost any hope of cashing in, and to be honest, that big payday wasn't coming, not with the jobs I was finding, so when I got word of what was going on out there—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—so there you have it, Ace, that's why I did what I did. I had no choice, really. It was that or the great beyond. Just know your dad did what he had to do if I ever wanted to see you and your mother again. You probably won't recognize me, since I'll be, well, a robot and all, but I'll find you, I promise—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—Gotcha, Tevis! You scoundrel. Caught you red-handed! I knew it as soon as I saw that Ice Breaker on your back. I know where I left it and I saw those awful etchings you can't help but carve into trees. So put it back and walk away from this one, and whatever you do, DO NOT read my notes. Well, read this one but that's it! Nothing else!—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—what can I say, I was just in too deep, Ace. I had to do something. For your sake, above all. I had lost any hope of cashing in, and to be honest, that big payday wasn't coming, not with the jobs I was finding, so when I got word of what was going on out there—

—This Ishtar gig is pretty wild, even for a lughead like me. Get it, Ace. Lughead. Come on. I'm trying. I'll get some better jokes, I promise. I knew I was here to secure some top-secret thing in the jungle, but I saw it today. They dug up the remains of a technological civilization that actually predates humanity. Don't tell anyone I told you, or you know, could be wipesville again.—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—what can I say, Ace, you should've seen me. I got each and every one of them out of there. That gang of Fallen raiders, gone, courtesy of yours truly. I can get used to this superhero stuff. Even got a few big wet ones from these really cute twins. DO NOT tell your mother—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—so here I am again, back in the EDZ. I know, I know. I said I would leave the Shard alone, but there is something about it. I am not the type that goes fishing for answers, but it feels like this place holds them. Like the Traveler is trying to tell us something. Ahh, what am I talking about, its probably just all those Arc storms messing with my insides—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—Here's the truth, Ace. I don't remember you. Found your name in a journal I had on me when my Ghost rezzed me. I guess I used to write to you? And I kept doing it. Even though you're long dead, if you ever really existed. Just liked having someone to write to, I guess. So there you have it. Now, you'll never guess what happened today, Ace—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—This has been fun, I guess. But it will all be gone tomorrow. I have been what they call "compromised," which is funny because I feel fine. Could use a few upgrades, but what Exo couldn't. But "compromised" means they are going inside my brain to wipe it from my memory. Met an interesting fellow Exo who leaves letters like this in caches, so whatever she gets saddled with next, she might come across one and take a trip down "lost memory lane." Ace, know that when I find you, I will never let them find me—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—so I thought the Reef would hold some answers for me. They've got some kind of Queen out there who knows things. But getting to her is proving to be quite the jaunt. She's got me chasing Vex all across the system looking for something called the Vault of Glass. Whaddya say, Ace, ever heard of it?—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—I've tried everything, Ace. Tried re-rigging my Ghost's shell every which way, making a deal with Variks for one of his captured Ghosts, even thought about following Ikora to Io, then it hit me. I can end this real quick by hopping right on Gary's ship via some Vex trickery. So here I am. Nessus, my own little Vex playground. Here goes nothing—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—Things are even weirder now, Ace. This is my fourth assignment, and I am kind of losing touch with what came before this whole Exo thing and what's a leftover fragment from another tour. I knew this would have had its kinks; I guess this is one of them. You know me, I didn't bother reading the fine print, or anything. At least I know, you're real, right?—
—from the journals of Cayde-6

—Whatever's going on down there, Ace, they don't want folks to know about it. But that's the job, so I'll do whatever it takes to find out. Might need a disguise. Hmm? Any ideas, Ace? Ooh! I know! How about a mustache?—
—from the journals of Cayde-6
