Venators are specially trained covert Psion units equipped with experimental light-blending armor and psionically tuned to conjure illusions of itself.
Overview[edit]
When the Neon Wraiths splintered from the Red Legion, many of the unconventionally talented armor smiths and psion covens would work to develop a new type of unit trained to stalk and assassinate any priority threat, all the while without compromising the warrior to unexpected discovery. Over time, the legion would reverse engineer Fallen stealth tech and integrate it into their arsenal, first supplying the light-blending panels to the most skilled and canny psion snipers in their ranks, as well as supplying them with a lightweight, multi-purpose Solar Blade in the event they are unexpectedly pressed by an adversary. They would be instrumental in the initial Neon Wraith assaults on enemy strongholds, with them making short work of field commanders and even basic enemy leadership.
While the Venator was first introduced with the Neon Wraiths, some of the stealth tech they bore would find themselves in the hands of Red Legion remnants and even in the hands of the Imperial Cabal after the end of the Wraith Skirmish. Years later, some Venators and the tech itself would end up in the hands of the Shadow Legion.
Gameplay[edit]
Upon engagement, or if scripted to in an environment, the Venator will be concealed by their stealth tech, making them almost invisible to the naked eye, with a keen one either seeing the glint of their rifles or the shimmer of their stealth tech. They will tend to stay away from their opponents, utilizing distance to their cloaked and sniper-wielding advantage. Additionally, the Venator will create illusions bearing the same shimmer as their stealth tech to throw off their adversaries, making it even more confusing for opponents should there be multiple other Venators on the battlefield. Should an opponent get too close, however, the Psion can swipe at them with a powerful, hip-sheathed 
Mortem Sword.
