The Scales of Riven are Elite Taken Centurions that appear in the Gauntlet of V rendition of Last Wish. Exclusive to the reprised Kalli, the Corrupted and Vault encounters, they provide defense for their superior and the security mechanism within the Keep of Voices.

Gameplay

The Scales of Riven provide protection in some capacity in whatever they are doing, wherever they are posted. In the Kalli boss fight, these Taken Centurions wills spawn in a random location beside one of the plates and must be eliminated in order to allow a Guardian to force Kalli to retreat if necessary. During the Vault encounter, however, they are a far more involved threat. After a Guardian has received their Taken Essence, a Scale of Riven will spawn in each of the side rooms, along with two special blights in the central room above the doors leading to them, only destroyable by the Taken Essence's standard blast. Two of the Scales of Riven will share a similar elemental Absorption Shield while the other has its own, marking that Scale's blight to be eliminated in order for the Taken Essence player to deposit their energy into the mechanism.
