Barrier Dire Captains are modified Dire Captain Champions capable of protecting themselves with an enhanced shield when threatened.

Gameplay

These enhanced Taken Captains are far more maneuverable and utilize their teleportation ability far more aggressively than a standard Taken Captain, and utilize these abilities to push their opponents from cover with great efficiency. When threatened with death, however, the Barrier Dire Captain will envelop themselves in a personal dome shield and recover any health they have lost. In order to prevent the Barrier Dire Captain from recovering their lost health, it is advised that Guardians utilize Anti-Barrier rounds or abilities to break the shield and stagger the empowered Taken unit.
