Val'aug was a Cabal Defector turned pirate lord, hired by Eramis, Kell of Darkness to search for artifacts of the Darkness. She is the final boss of the Pirate Hideout: The Brute activity.

Overview

Val'aug was once a Colossus of the Red Legion, before defecting to start her own company. She recruited both other Cabal and Fallen in her crew. She kept her followers in line through merciless punishments, accruing a reputation for heavy handed brutality.

Her hideout was in the Themis Cluster, in the asteroid 64974 Savaria.

History

When Val'aug defected from the Red Legion, she imagined a life of true freedom, glory and riches, inscribing her name across the Solar System. After years though, she was dissatisfied with her lot, having to live in a filthy carved-out asteroid, using an arsenal of patchwork weapons in disrepair, and having to watch her back from a crew that would assassinate her at the first sign of weakness. She became increasingly ruthless to show her strenght, punishing even small cheats with death.

When she heard of the bounty Eramis placed on these artifacts of Darkness, she and her crew managed to acquire one. Before she could hand it off to the Kell of Darkness though, her hideout was invaded by The Guardian, under direction from The Spider. Though she and her crew put up a fight, they were ultimately killed, and her artifact was taken.

Gameplay

Val'aug will appear two rooms into her hideout. She will begin the battle from on top of a cliff, next to a Heavy Ammo Crate, an lay suppression fire with her Cabal Slug Launcher. After she loses a third of her health, she will be surrounded by an immunity shield, and will summon Fallen and Cabal reinforcements to cover her retreat deeper into the cave. Once she reaches this new checkpoint, her shield will go down, and she will be vulnerable again. Do this a second time, and she will retreat to her treasure hoard, where she will put up a final resistance with her crew before going down.

• Despite being a Cabal female, Val'aug sports no tusks.
