Mindbender's Ambition is a Legendary Solar Shotgun introduced in Forsaken. It had a chance to be awarded for completing the The Hollowed Lair Nightfall. With the Tangled Shore and consequently, The Hollowed Lair, entering the Destiny Content Vault with the release of The Witch Queen expansion, Mindbender's Ambition was reprised in Season of Plunder as a possible drop from Nightfalls.
An Adept version of this weapon, that is able to equip Adept mods, receives extra stats from masterworking and has a slightly different appearance, can be acquired from Nightfalls on Grandmaster difficulty.
