Lost to Light is an infamous mission from the Taken King campaign. You travel into the [[Temple of Crota]] to steal a shard of a crystal that is thought to still hold the whispers of [[Crota]]'s soul. Upon inspecting it, the player's ghost finds it to be empty. You must run out of the fortress to survive the onslaught of Hive and Taken. You find a tomb husk in the first chamber you enter when reading [[Toland]]'s journal. Then in the second room you find 2 more. (This part is optional) In the third room you can not pick up the tomb husk on the entrance and enter a room towards the back left (looking at the room from the entrance). That is where you start the [[Black Spindle]] quest, read more below. After picking up all 3 tomb husks. You unlock the door and the quest is over.

The quest is ONLY available from the Daily Heroic Story mission. From there a fireteam of 3 is recommended. You start in a location where you fight [[Tankis, the Scarred]]. You fight off remaining enemies and go up the gravity shaft. You have 10 minutes to complete the quest after this part and it automatically stops the quest. You go in the next room and continue to fight enemies. Then you do the same for the next room. In the final chamber you must defeat the boss. You also MUST have to clear out all remaining [[Taken]] in the room before the time runs up. Now you should receive a Black Spindle.
