The Currency of the City. A programmable matter used as a source of power before the Collapse. Glimmer is shared between all of your characters.

Glimmer is a type of currency. It can be used to upgrade weapons,[1] and buy items.[2] Slain enemies may drop Glimmer, as when Rixis, Archon Slayer was killed, he dropped multiple blueish-white particles.[1] It may also be found in chests,[2] or gained by disassembling items.

Glimmer is apparently a natural resource that can be extracted from the ground, as the Fallen will attempt to do so with portable drills in some Public Events.[3]
