Disappearance
Judgement & Loyalty Wavering
Following the end of the Red War and a massive prison break within the Prison of Elders by the deadly Fallen Scorn, Variks has disappeared. It is implied that he had prior knowledge of the break, as he disrupts his Warden before fleeing to a Skiff. He proclaimed that in the wake of Fallen losses, he would become the Kell of the House of Judgement. One of the fallen who accompanies him from the prison is an ex-Wolf, suggesting that he has recruited from other houses or the House of Dusk. Soon after, Warden malfunctions dangerously and sends the prison further into chaos. This forces the Guardians to storm the prison and destroy the modified Servitor before the situation gets any worse. Fighting past the rampaging inmates and the dangerous environment of the prison itself, the Guardians succeed in destroying the Warden.
Variks had been contemplating on what to do, with the imprisonment of Uldren as well as his talks with the delusional Prince and the Scorn Archon Fikrul he was beginning to doubt himself and the plans that his Kell:Queen, Mara Sov had left for him and the few she had trusted have knowledge on the plan . His dream before Cayde brought Uldren and Fikrul to the prison knawing at his mind sending more doubt into  his mind. It wasn't until days later did he make a decision.

Despite this, Variks's whereabouts remain unknown to the Reef Awoken and the Guardians.
