Light-Eater Ogres are Taken Ogres that appears as a unique enemy in the King's Fall Raid on Normal Mode, alongside with Light-Eater Knights on Hard. They make a return in Season of Plunder with the return of King's Fall. According to Toland, Light-Eater Ogres were used to tithe Light as a tribute to Akka. After Akka's murder, they now serve as direct tribute to Oryx, the Taken King himself.

Light-Eater Ogres spawn during the final boss encounter after Oryx, the Taken King slams a plate with his fist and spawning a brand. Each Ogre emerge from pools by the plates clockwise of the respective plate that was slammed. After they complete their spawning animation, they will immediately attempt to make their way to the middle of the arena, however due to how lengthy and predictable their spawning is, they're most often killed before they can do little more than take a couple steps. When killed, they leave behind a blight that must be detonated after Oryx is staggered to prevent him from regaining health. If Light-Eater Ogres are left alive for long enough, they activate rage and begin to chase down the closest Guardian to them that they can reach.
