The Vanishing Claw is a group of Fallen spies, operatives, and saboteurs belonging to the House of Lions. They operate throughout the Sol System within hidden dens and outposts to monitor and assess potential threats or allies for the Lions.
Overview[edit]
The Vanishing Claw were formed at the height of the golden age on Riis, serving as a network of spies and scouts controlled by the Kell of Lions. Originally, they were led by Skevsis, the Prowling, who orchestrated the events of the Gray Wars and the death of Yorvik, Kell of Lions in his bid to become the next Lion Kell. After he was slain by Joskaa who liberated the House of Lions from Skevsis's oppression and succeeded him as the Kell of Lions, he would make Devris, the Silent Squall, a renown Vanishing Claw, the leader of the group. Unbeknownst to him, Devris still harbored loyalty to the late Skevsis and plotted against the young Kell alongside Delkris. Once the plot was finally discovered, Joskaa would dock Devris and in-prison her in a Cryo-Pod alongside the contributors and would give the leadership to Grayvis, who was also his mate. Grayvis would go on to lead the Vanishing Claw without question and set up numerous outposts once the Lions reached the Sol System and secretly held communications with Draksis, Winter Kell and the House of Winter. The Vanishing Claw would become instrumental in establishing a mutual alliance with the Awoken and the Siege on Mars in which one of their outposts was discovered and attacked by the Cabal Star Blazers, leading to a alliance between the Lions and the Last City to combat the Cabal. The Vanishing Claw assisted the Guardians throughout the event and even helped discover the location of the Star Blazers' commander, Val Jo'arrc and his command ship, Kenvage Col V. The Vanishing Claw also helped in fighting the House of Storm led by their Archon, Tikmiks, son of their former leader Skevsis.
Vanishing Claw members consists primarily of Stealth Vandals and wield either Wire Rifles or dual Shock Blades and might be seen alongside other Lions in missions within the Rubicon Outskirts. Notably three Vanishing Claw members were captured during the Siege on Mars by the Star Blazers within Charlemagne's Hold along with several Lions, but were saved thanks to the Guardians under the orders of AJ, the Relentless. Later, the Vanishing Claw was expanded to include Marauders, Tracer Shanks, and Heavy Shanks. The Vanishing Claw also utilized Spy Servitors in their espionage and intelligence reports.
