Skinners are a Shotgun-like weapon utilized by the Devotees and a few other units among the Banished Swarm.

Overview

Built from a stripped down Boomer, these chitinous weapons appear more aerated and "mechanical", its core constantly seething with a destabilized Celestial Shard. This weapon was devised by the Swarm, alongside its conventional and common users, for close-quarters combat, especially deep within Hive nests and the hulls of Hive Warships.

As a shotgun-like weapon, the Skinner fires off a volley of Arc projectiles, their damage diminishing with distance and time in the air. These bolts will also bounce around for a brief period, often making tight corridors a death sentence. Although a direct, point blank hit could be fatal, a far enough distance not only makes it difficult for the whole volley to hit, but also allows the bolts to be significantly weaker after the time in the air.
