Light-Drainer Wizards are powerful Hive Wizards who employ Ravenous Knights as minions and seek to build up their foes just so they can drain them of that energy themselves.
Gameplay[edit]
- Phase 1
Upon losing two-thirds of its health, a Light-Drainer Wizard will manifest an Immunity Shield to protect itself from any damage and retreat to a prepared ritual circle that cannot be disrupted. Afterwards, various Thralls will materialize and attempt to sacrifice themselves to provide sustenance to the Wizard. If enough Thralls are not eliminated, a Light-Drainer Wizard will receive sustenance that will allow it to begin regenerate its health. When all the Thralls are eliminated, the Wizard's shield will dissipate. When the shield dissipates, the Wizard will enrage till it is destroyed becoming more aggressive. However, if they fail to gain any sustenance, they will float there exhausted from the ritual and become vulnerable to attack and are an easy kill. At 1/4 of their health, they teleport and begin summoning Hive Reinforcements. At half health they teleport and summon reinforcements again. When defeated the wizard will enter second phase.
- Phase 2
Upon entering Phase 2, a Light-Drainer Wizard gains the ability to cast Brood Spikes. Upon hitting their health gate in this phase, they will retreat into the Ascendant Plane and attempt to escape but make the careless mistake of leaving the door they used opened, allowing one to follow them. When they do this, they enter Phase 3
- Phase 3
Upon this phase starting a timer begins, where you must defeat the wizard before they reach the visible Ascendant Portal at the end of the area, the wizard will engage you as they flee but will for the most part flee from you. When slain they do not dissolve in Soulfire like most wizards do instead their body falls to the ground, where it can be looted.
