==Overview==
An Absorption Shield manifests as a translucent bubble that surrounds the wielder. Damaging the shield will make it deteriorate, until it is removed. [[Elemental damage]] of the appropriate type, identifiable by the shield's color, drains it faster. If a shielded enemy doesn't receive damage for some time, its barrier will recharge quickly. Every race has at least one type of enemy shielded by default but will also have another type of enemy that's shielded whenever the Epic modifier is active (or during certain [[public event]]s).

==Gameplay==
As this page, is about fanfiction shields, gameplay may vary but follows a focused standard. ''Absorption Shields'' are weak to their element, and resistant to all non-matching elements. ''Overshields'' however are resistant to all damage and are weaker than shields normally. This is altered by the continuality its present in, in some it could be weak and in others its tanky. The appearance of shields is variable but in the '''Fractures continuality''' for example maintains a mix of both [[Season of the Deep]] and prior shield designs. ==Ablative Armor===
Ablative Armor is a type of protective shield introduced in the ''[[Renegades]]'' expansion. Ablative Armor covers the user like a protective sheet, glowing with triangular patterns. Damage inflicted above a certain threshold is significantly reduced, and the shield will quickly regenerate. The higher the damage is, the longer this regeneration will be delayed. Once Ablative Armor is broken, it will not regenerate outside of specific circumstances.
