Basanismos, the Recreated is a Vex Minotaur of the Sol Convergent that was reformed into the shape of a Tormentor through the Vex's study of the Dread. It would be encountered by a Guardian fireteam in the Pillar of Understanding in a Strike to keep them from understanding how to create their own Dread.

Trivia

• Basanismos is the Greek word for Torment and Torture.
• Basanismos bears a slight resemblance to Nezarec, such as with the horned head and multicolored eyes. The reason for this is unknown, but Osiris speculated that it may have been the result of a "meme" imprinted within each Tormentor, like the one they studied to modify Basanismos.
