Lucent Portalguards are a unique group of Hive Lightbearer Wizards who are encountered throughout the PsiOps Battlegrounds: EDZ activity. They protect the Hive portals that transport players further through the mission, and must be killed in order to open the rifts and progress to other areas.
Gameplay
The Portalguards appear in the Psi Ops Battleground: EDZ activity, and will prevent the fireteam from travelling to the next area by keeping their portals from opening. Each of them are protected by an immunity shield, to stop them from being attacked. Players must fight of the incoming hordes of Hive enemies before a Lucent Reliquist arrives to the battle, who must be killed so you can steal the powerful Cleaver that they wield in order to destroy the Lightbearers' shields so they can be killed. When a Portalguard has fallen, their rift will open, allowing the fireteam to progress to the next location. This process must be repeated three times throughout the course of the activity.
