The Takedown in the Typhon Imperator is a Cabal Takedown released as the finale of the Congression episode. Guardians are tasked with trekking into the deepest depths of the Typhon Imperator to stop Tivon and end his plans to enact his version of the Final Shape. Similar to Takedowns before it, players must race through the colossal Pyramid ship to earn Shadow Legion-themed gear and weaponry, and a chance to earn the Fang of Tivon Exotic Glaive, through difficult puzzles and a more ferocious opposition.

Overview

Throughout the Congression episode, Guardians had to infiltrate Pyramid ships and take pieces of the renegade Disciple Tivon before his followers can use them to bring the Disciple to life. Eventually, Nimbus would receive reports from Viragny D'Sydney of increased Shadow Legion activity within the Typhon Imperator. Believing the Congression is up to something, Ikora Rey assembled a Guardian fireteam to investigate.

Similar to Takedowns before it, there is a lack of mechanics-based encounters alongside the lack of checkpoints, offering only three positions to save: the beginning, after defeating Val Bho'kaurl and after defeating Werner 99-40 for players attempting to get the Dreadfang.
