===The Witch Queen===
Following the Guardian's adventures in the Reef, where Savathûn managed to escape but Osiris was returned albeit comatose, Mars had mysteriously returned leading Ikora and her Hidden to conduct an investigation on the red planet's state. Unfortunately, the Witch Queen had reappeared upon her vessel, The Lure, where the Guardian encountered a disturbing new enemy: Hive Lightbearers with their own Ghosts, the [[Lucent Brood]]. Believing that the Witch Queen had stolen the Light, Ikora and the Guardian continued a thorough investigation and discovered, to their horror, that Savathûn had actually died not long after she escaped the Reef and the Traveler had a Ghost resurrected her. Further, they learned that the Witch Queen is planning on sealing the Traveler away in her Throne World which would permanently cut the Guardians off from the Light and leave the Last City completely vulnerable.
Bringing this truth to the Zavala and the Vanguard, the Titan would be left incredulous, refusing to believe the Traveler would give one of the most devious foes humanity had ever faced, the Light, even after Eris Morn explained the Traveler's behavior of uplifting civilizations and then abandoning them. Regardless of being unable to fathom the Traveler's decision, Ikora Rey believed that it didn't matter, stating that if Savathûn succeeds in her plan, then humanity would not be able to stop the Darkness, led by an entity they learned to be called [[The Witness]]. After a struggle and a shocking revelation, the Guardian had succeeded in disrupting the Witch Queen's ritual and killing her, saving the Traveler from being sealed away, but Savathûn's Ghost, Immaru, had escaped, leading the Lucent Brood in the Witch Queen's absence.
====Vanguard-Cabal Coalition====
As the Guardian initially infiltrated Savathûn's vessel, they unintentionally engaged with Empress Caiatl's Red Legion, threatening the Last City's armistice with the Cabal. Managing to organize a meeting with the empress, Zavala also invited the Guardian to help him avoid creating another conflict with the Cabal. With Lord Saladin and Crow also present, Zavala was able to get Empress Caiatl not only forgiving the Guardian for the Cabal deaths but also on board in combating against the threat of the Lucent Brood.
