==Biography==
According to the Grimoire, Zydron typically exists in a "liminal state," stretched between multiple gates or terminals, and only inhabits a body when the need arises. Like other [[Gate Lord]]s, Zydron is in charge of protecting the realms that the Vex access, and possesses a special code that links them to points in time.<ref name="Grimoire"/>

[[Eris Morn]] tasked the Guardians to defeat the [[Nightmare of Zydron, Gate Lord]] and retrieve its Essence of Servitude. ====Eye of a Gate Lord====
Zydron is larger than other Minotaurs, but it cannot teleport, has a weak spot below the chest and does not have a Void shield. Its body is black rather than the normal copper coloration. When Guardians first encounter Zydron, its body parts are separated. When engaging the Guardians, the separated body parts attach to each other and compose the full body of Zydron.

====Dares of Eternity====

With Zydron's return as a Dares Champion, it has gained the ability to teleport, to launch [[Slap Grenade]]s, and to create Detainment Walls. When the fight starts, Zydron is protected by an Immunity Shield and will activate its Detainment Wall Protocol. After the Guardians evade waves of detainment walls, Zydron will summon reinforcements, including [[Xûr's Keybearer]]s. These Minotaurs must be killed to deactivate Zydron's Immunity Shield and start the damage phase.

==Trivia==
*As well as being the first Gate Lord and the first [[Ultra]] [[Vex]] in the game, Zydron is the first [[Vex Mind]] to be encountered in ''Destiny'' to be named as a mind in their name. The first is the [[Corrective Mind]], though it's only named as a Mind in the mission objective and is simple a [[Major]] [[Cyclops]] in-game.
*Zydron was the first black Vex. It was succeeded by [[Qodron, Gate Lord]] later in [[House of Wolves]].
*Zydron has a yellow eye in its head in both [[Destiny|Destiny 1]] and as a Nightmare, but in Dares of Eternity it has a red eye.
**Zydron's yellow eye is also currently a unique trait to it, Qodron, and the [[Sol Progeny]].
