In an attempt to bring the Hive under his control, [[Emperor Calus|Calus]] created [[Gahlran, the Sorrow-Bearer]] for the sole purpose of wielding the [[Crown of Sorrow]]. Upon donning the [[Crown of Sorrow]], [[Gahlran, the Sorrow-Bearer|Gahlran]] was corrupted by the [[Hive]] magic placed within the [[Crown of Sorrow|Crown]] by [[Savathûn, the Witch-Queen|Savathun]], turning him against [[Emperor Calus|Calus]]. Subsequently, [[Emperor Calus|Calus]] called upon the Guardians to re-enter the [[The Leviathan|Leviathan]] to kill [[Gahlran, the Sorrow-Bearer|Gahlran]].
