Shadows of the Night

{Cinematic}

The Guardian look through their scope of their gun as they try to watch the Shadowkeepers' meeting, while the Ghost tries to eavesdrop the Shadows' Conversation through the comms and get it to Eris and Hannah to listen on them. Kirito walks up to the stage while Asuna stands in the background beside Kirito's champions Kotrik, Zharves, Gha'arn, Thu'urg, and Vayeriks, as well as Hydrax floating in the distance as he watches. Crowds of Fallen and Cabal Shadows watch their master as he gives out a speech.

• Kirito: My loyal and ambitious subjects, you are here today to finally end your troubles, finally end your griefs over your losses, finally to end your droughts against The Last City's forces...and to finally bring your people's salvation. The wait is finally over, for I, Kirito, Chosen by the Winnower, Champion of the Black Fleet, Bringer to Light's End, will bring you the Salvation and justice that you crave so dearly...

The Audience starts murmuring around the area. Kirito allows them to finish as he speaks again.

• Kirito: And to prove my gifts, I will demonstrate the power that none have ever tried...oh Yui?

As he calls out, Kirito's daughter, Yui, teleports a large Crux of Darkness to the arena, Kirito hides a devilish smile as he turn back to the Shadows.

• Kirito: WITNESS THE POWER THAT THE WINNOWER HAS BESTOWED TO ME!

He raises his hand to the Crux and he channels his power as he starts to move his hand up in the air as the Crux begins to separate into small pieces, the crowd is full of shock and awe, Asuna forms a smile at Kirito's demonstration as he quickly turns his hand into a fist as the Crux implodes into a large orange bubble. The Crowd start to cheer for Kirito as he then falls to his knees, The Crux would collapse into pieces as he was out of breath from the event. Asuna quickly runs over to him but he has his hand out to stop her.

• Kirito: Fine...I'm fine...

He gets up and dusts off his clothing as he looks back to the crowd.

• Kirito: As you can see...I have the very power to manipulate even the objects of Darkness. With this, even the Strongest of the Light will fall!

The congregation begins to slowly cheer on for Kirito, as the Guardian continue their aim at Kirito.

• Hannah: Kill him now!
• Ghost: We're trying to-

Just then, a House of Shadows Marauder would uncloak and intervene with the Guardian, causing them to miss their shot and only grazing Kirito's shoulder. He falls to the ground as he tries to cover the wound. Kotrik and Gha'arn look up to see who did the shot. The Guardian would wrestle against the Marauder and kicks him off the cliff. Kotrik would aim with his Wire Rifle and shoots at the Guardian but misses.

• Ghost: Okay, that's enough, We need to leave!

Kotrik would fire again while Asuna runs to Kirito.

• Asuna: Kirito-kun! Are you alright?
• Kirito: I'm fine, I'm fine...but the intruders won't be... Go, my Shadows. Stop them in any way you can!

The crowd nodded as they exit the arena and run out to get the Guardian.

• Ghost: We are so screwed!

The Last Card

{Cinematic}

• ERIS MORN: It began with the Darkness.

A drawing of the Pyramids starts to form on the screen, and is quickly surrounded by another drawing of the veiled figures. The Splinter of Darkness is illustrated below them.

• ERIS: For centuries, the Darkness brought destruction and calamity upon our world with the Pyramids.

The illustration withdraws, and creates caricatures of heroes from the past, in detailed poses, fighting against the enemies of Humanity without success.

• ERIS: We thought the Traveler's sacrifice would help us stop them, but all it did was speed up the process of our coming downfall at the hands of our enemies. Numerous great battles fought for the soul of our world ended in slaughter as endless waves of protectors of this world lost their lives during the assault...

The image of the assault fades, and briefly transforms into the symbol of the Shadow Army, before turning into an image of Kirito and Asuna.

• ERIS: ...and now, with Zavala gone, these monsters...Kirito and Asuna... plan to rule our world and forge a new vision of Aincrad through corruption, greed, and darkness. As the Pyramids brought an end to the age of heroes, the Shadowkeepers and their dark armies slaughtered countless protectors and innocent lives, turning the heroes' victories into losses, lives into deaths, and wellbeing into extinction.

Kirito and Asuna's portrait is surrounded by drawings of the Shadowkeepers and the Shadow Army elites.

• Eris: To avenge the deaths of Zavala and numerous innocent souls, you must walk into the heart of the Shadowkeepers' world.

The drawing disappears and the screen fades to black.

• Eris: You must...become...Descendant.
