Taken versions of enemies have radically different behaviors from their standard counterparts, including new abilities designed to counter Guardian abilities. Eris and the Drifter set out for the Dreadnaught and assigned the Guardian to [[Trostland]] after learning that a large concentration of Taken energies landed there, leading the corruptive energies of the Taken to spread. As the Guardian battled through the Dire Taken, Eris and the Drifter made it to the Dreadnaught, finding it different than it once was, infested and decaying from Taken energies, leading Eris to theorize that a new will was in command of the Taken. The Guardian eventually found the source of the corruption, the Eversion Anchor, and slew the anchor's protector, [[Gorkall, the Gatekeeper]]. Unfortunately, the pair found themselves swarmed by Dire Taken in the Hall of Souls, which they managed to fend off before finding themselves ambushed by Keit'Eir, now dubbed '''The Resonant Knife, First of the Reshaped''', who would overpower Eris and ultimately impale her. The Resonant Knife took its leave, dragging Eris's body to the Dreadnaught's depths with Drifter giving chase. After slaying [[Felghul the Requisitioner]] and acquiring the Tablet of Ruin, the Guardian pursued the Drifter and the Resonant Knife.
