She later fought in the [[Red War]], but perished in the aftermath of the war when she gave her life to disrupt a [[Hive]] ritual during The [[Savathûn's Song (strike)|Savathûn's Song]] [[Strike]].

===Guardian of the Last City===
During the [[Great Ahamkara Hunt]] Taeko-3 drew lots at the [[Tower]] to determine who she would be working with during the hunt. She was partnered with another [[Warlock]], [[Gallida Tuyet]], and they travelled to Venus to begin their hunt. They found their target [[Ahamkara]], but Gallida decided to question it about the inner workings of a Vex construct. Taeko-3 waited as the Ahamkara transformed into the construct and showed Gallida the insides, which she drew a diagram of. Worried that she might get bored and accidently think an idle wish around the Ahamkara, Taeko-3 encouraged her partner to hurry. Sometime after the Great Hunt, Taeko-3 began collaborating with two other Guardians, the [[Hunter]] [[Uzoma Vale]] and another Warlock known only as [[The Stoic]], to create a weapon that used electroencephalography to gather energy from the user's neural activity and amplify the damage it could deal, essentially making the user's focus on a target hurt them more. After the reclamation of the [[The Last City|Last City]], Taeko was part of a fireteam with two other Guardians, a Hunter and another Warlock. Along with six other Guardians stationed on [[Titan (moon)|Titan]], they received orders to go into the [[New Pacific Arcology]] to investigate and stop a [[Hive]] ritual. Before the mission, Taeko and her team were briefed by Deputy Commander [[Sloane]]. Taeko believed that their mission would be easy, as they had stopped plenty of Hives rituals before. Sloane reprimanded her for this attitude, noting that the Hive on Titan were unlike those they had faced previously. Taeko merely smirked and told Sloane that she worried to much, and claimed that when working with her team they were unstoppable. Sloane approached Taeko and asked what she would do if things went wrong and her team did not have her back. She smirked again and claimed the answer was easy: embrace the Praxic Fire.<ref name="Duty Bound"/>

Taeko's cockiness was soon proven to be foolhardy, as the Guardian fireteams quickly became trapped by the Hive within the warrens under the archeology. They were hunted down, killed, and converted into crystals full of [[Void]] [[Light]] for use in a summoning ritual. Taeko watched as her best friend was killed and desecrated by the Hive. Taeko struggled to survive, and her Ghost and Light were beginning to fade when she made contact with a rescue team sent by Commander [[Zavala]] and [[Sloane]]. She informed them of what she knew about the Hive's activities, and tried to dissuade them from coming any further into the Hive's territory so they would not be killed as well. The rescue team then informed her that by destroying the Void crystals, the Hive creating them became vulnerable. Noting that there was no crystal in the chamber with Savathûn's Song, Taeko decided to sacrifice her life and allow the Hive to turn her into one of the crystals. Taeko's sacrifice was not in vain, as the strike team was able to destroy the monstrous Shrieker and prevent whatever ritual the Hive were preparing for from occurring.<ref name="SS"/>
