Chalice Guards are unique Hive Knights tasked with guarding the Chalice of Light in the Abyss encounter.

Gameplay

While in the abyss encounter, Chalice guards will appear to prevent the Chalice from being reacquired after every Podium of Light after the first. In order to damage them and regain the Chalice; players must destroy the ritual rune which only a player with Enlightened can see. This dispels their immunity. Allowing them to be eliminated. Once they are gone the Chalice can be picked up and the encounter continues. In Last Rites these sit right on the Annihilator Totem Plates and must be stealthily eliminated to acquire a Tomb Husk to cross the bridge. On the other side the other two must be killed to gain another Tomb Husk, this one opens the door. All of this must be done while avoiding all other Hive.

Trivia

• Chalice Guards in Last Rites uniquely lack a Detection Aura unlike all other Hive in the mission.
