Acasia, Vessel of Nezarec is a Psion who was conscripted into the Acolytes of Nezarec. Following the death of the Witness, she would be transformed into a new form in a ritual to return Nezarec to life.
Biography[edit]
At some point prior to coming to the Sol System, Acasia lived with her partner on a world within the Cabal Empire. One night, her partner was psychically visited by Nezarec, Final God of Pain, who marked the unfortunate Psion as his chosen sacrifice.[2] At some point following this, Psion priests came to Acasia's residence and took her partner away, to be psychically tortured as part of a ritual to feed and appease Nezarec.[3]
An unknown length of time later, Acasia would come to the Sol System and be discovered in a jungle, presumably on Earth or Venus, by an Acolyte of Nezarec who asked her to join their cause. Acasia agreed to assist them, hoping that by helping return Nezarec to corporeal form, the God of Pain might agree to release her partner from his torment.[4]
Acasia would remain with Nezarec's Acolytes for many years. After he had been killed by a Guardian fireteam, she had briefly feared her partner was gone forever but she remained convinced she could get him back. Years later, Acasia would join a group of Acolytes to board the derelict Pyramid of Essence to conduct a ritual to resurrect Nezarec. Acasia would volunteer to be the vessel through which Nezarec would be reborn, believing that it would allow her to release her partner.[5]
However, the Acoyltes' activity would catch the attention of the Coalition, who dispatched a Guardian fireteam to prevent Nezarec's return. After fighting their way through the Nightmares drawn to the Pyramid and the forces of the Acoyltes, the Guardians would stop the ritual and put down Acasia.[6]
