Fera was a Human from the Dark Age. Originally made to steal for the Warlord Jaxxen when she was a child, she would help Lord Saladin to take him out. However, in the following years, she would take control of Jaxxen's forces and become their new leader, bleeding the nearby village dry until she was put down by Saladin.
Biography[edit]
When she was young, Fera was made to serve the Warlord Jaxxen, who had promised her protection and to return her younger brother in exchange for stealing from a nearby village.[3][2] However, her brother would ultimatly die.[2] After stealing a pig and half of the village's dried meat stores from the village,[4], using a recon device she planted in the village that transmitted to a nearby Golden Age antenna to scope for openings, Fera would be caught by Lord Saladin, who had been sent by the villagers to find the thief. While she threatened to kill Saladin and take his Ghost so that Jaxxen would be afraid of her, even attempting to shoot her, she would stop after Saladin disarmed her and awaited her execution for her crime. Instead, Saladin offered her mercy and asked her to take him to Jaxxen.[2]
On the trek to Jaxxen's encampment, Saladin would teach Fera how to hunt and trap, teaching her about how wolves were stronger in a pack. Before they arrived at Jaxxen's camp, Saladin told her about how how laws elevated them from just surviving. Fera was initially dismissive of it, but Saladin told her that people like the Iron Lords and the vassals they left in their stead made sure they were kept. Saladin handed her a talisman, wanting to appoint her to be his vassal to watch over the woods for him, and told her that it made her a wolf that protects their own. When Fera asked how, Saladin told her to find and bring others who need a place, like her, and promise to protect each other.[2]
The next morning, Saladin told Fera to wait for him at their camp while he dealt with Jaxxen and his forces. Fera instead hid in the tree line and watched as Saladin cut through Jaxxen's men and eventually Jaxxen himself. All throughout, she watched with awe and delight. She was fearful when Jaxxen emerged and smiles when he is cut down. Afterwards, Saladin would bring Fera to the village with the pig.[2] After he left, Fera had begged for forgiveness, only to have her ear taken as punishment.[1]
In response, Fera would grow to take Jaxxen's place as the Warlord of the region, using Saladin's teachings to gather and arm orphans of the forest to act as her wolf pack. Once strong enough, she returned to the village and bled them dry of resources. When they had no more to give, she sent in her wolves to massacre everyone in the village. When Saladin returned fifty years later following rumors of "rabid wolves" in the outlands, he confronted Fera in her new stronghold build around the old Golden Age antenna, furious at her for going against what he had taught her. Fera countered that she had followed his lessons, that order had to be imposed when a Warlord was toppled, which she learned when he slapped the weapon out of her hands and leveled Jaxxen's camp.[1]
After stating that he made a mistake in offering her mercy, Saladin attacked, slaughtering everyone but Fera. Afterwards, he lifted her by the neck and began to squeeze. During a brief moment of respite while he caught his breath, Fera gently placed her hand and asked how long until someone came to repay his violence. When Saladin relaxed his grip, Fera stabbed him in the neck with a sliver of metal, leading to Saladin to tighten his grip more until her spine broke. After watching her fall to the ground and her life slowly fade, Saladin shot her as a final mercy.[1]
