'''Elykris, the Machinist''' is a [[Baron]]ess and the second in command of the [[Scorn]].

==Biography==
Known as the Scourge and the Bandit, her reign of terror was well known to [[The Reef]] even before she became the second-in-command of the Scorned Barons. Working as an expert of munitions and weapon crafting, Elykris was infamous for her raids on ships and settlements near [[Mars]]. She also had a role in the Siege of Arran, where she hijacked the ship and stole it's contents.

The heist of Solis Descent saw the deaths of [[Guardian]]s and stripped of its cache.<ref name=GIBarons/> She even stole [[Cabal]] Telemetry and Gravity Traps to further sabotage cargo and hull them to the shipyard for scraps.<ref>[https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/roll-call?highlight=Elykris Roll Call]</ref>

At one point she was a member of the outcast [[House of Exile]], but challenged the traditions of the Fallen Houses, only to be ousted out of the House. After being captured alongside her fellow Barons, she was imprisoned deep within the [[Prison of Elders]], only to be freed by [[Uldren Sov]]. She played a role in helping Uldren murder the [[Hunter]] [[Vanguard]], [[Cayde-6]].<ref name=GIBarons/> 

Later she took up residence in [[Salvage Zone QX]], only to be hunted down by the Guardians. She played a crucial role in buying time for Uldren and Fikrul to enter the [[Awoken]]  Watchtower to enact their plan, but fell to the Guardians. Years later, her [[Nightmare]] would appear on the [[Leviathan (ship)|Derelict Leviathan]], defending it from the incursion of the Guardians.

==Personality and traits==

Elykris has shown herself to be quite avaricious, as whatever technology and weaponry she doesn't give to the Scorn, she keeps for herself. She seems to share Fikrul's sentiment on the Scorn being a family, or at least a close-knit brotherhood, as her lines about the Barons always standing together and the Scorn standing together forever are similar to some of Fikrul's own dialogue on the Scorn. She also seems to be wrathful, as she venomously calls Cayde-6's death "pathetic" and continuously growls at the Guardian about how their attempt at revenge is futile.

Elykris seemed to initially have a tumultuous relationship with fellow Baron [[Reksis Vahn, the Hangman]] as the latter would frequently sneak into her hoard to destroy her captured [[Servitors]].

==Gameplay==

Elykris possesses multiple weapons in her arsenal, all of which have devastating consequences. In hand, she wields a [[Scorn Cannon]], which fires explosive molten [[Ether]] fumes from long range, constantly blasting the player down and pounding away at their shield. She will also occasionally crouch and use her back-mounted munitions device to fire Scorn Rockets one after another, each of which deals high blast damage; every time her health reaches a certain threshold, she will duck down on the ground, surround herself with [[Void]] energy to negate all incoming damage akin to an Ether-Shield, and rapidly fire [[Solar]] orbital strikes from her munitions device before teleportating to another location shortly afterwards to directly continue her assault. This means the player has to contend with both direct combat and evasion simultaneously. Additionally, there are poisonous liquid pools littered throughout the arena, which can prove to be a deadly environmental hazard. The arena itself, however, is fairly large, and thus it is easy to space oneself from Elykris in order to safely and reliably damage her. Her movement is rather slow, so the player can continue to stay at an extended range for an easier engagement.

*The "Machinist" was originally the title for [[Vosik, the Archpriest]], before it was changed.
*Elykris is by far the tallest and leanest of all the barons, towering over them at 16 feet tall with [[Hiraks, the Mindbender]] being the only one who can match this as he becomes larger than her within his throne world.
*Along with [[Araskes, the Trickster]], she is one of two female Scorn shown to speak English.
*The arena where you fight her in the Story mission is similar to [[Foundry 113]], a location in the [[Plaguelands]] and starting area of the [[Wrath of the Machine]] raid.
