Alexei is an exiled Häkke employee and an associate of The Spider. After they learned of Ghosts reviving Hive into Guardians, Alexei would become disillusioned with The Traveler and the Vanguard. He would then come into possession of a chest piece that was meant to be delivered to the Spider. Before he did, Alexei used it to experiment on a recovered Hive Ghost, finding that the chestpiece could render the Ghost inert without lifting a finger. After experiments were done, he sent it with his report and an addendum for the Spider.
