Strange Coins are obtained from completing Public Events, a rare loot from chests, or Decoherent Engram drops. Player will also receive a strange coin once a player completes the "Scourge Of Winter" mission on the map Venus, the player will receive keys you turn into the Cryptarch at the Tower in exchange for a strange coin. They are used to purchase powerful loot from Xûr, Agent of the Nine.[1] Strange Coins can also be obtained as a reward from completing game modes in the crucible, although the reward is a random drop.
