Harbingers are powerful weapons used by the Awoken. During the Reef Wars, the Harbingers destroyed Ceres, and all the Wolves there.[1] Despite their incredible power, they are rarely used, as they can cause catastrophic collateral damage. For that reason, the Queen avoided their use to end the Seige of Pallas.[2] The Harbingers are under the control of the Techeuns, though it seems that this control may be tenuous.[3] A number of Harbingers were deployed by Queen Mara Sov during the Battle of Saturn, but while they devastated many Hive warships and Tombships, they failed to damage the Dreadnaught. Oryx, the Taken King then activated the Dreadnaught's main weapon and destroyed the Awoken fleet. Vestiges of the Harbingers linger around Saturn's moons.[4]
